WTF is DD69?
In 1999 Scott Martin and Mike Adams started drunkdude69 with the goal of combining their interests in different musical styles (rock, reggae, ska, punk and funk) into a balanced and nutritious audio cocktail.
DD69 music has been described as “a rip through a well-stocked jukebox, with smooth funk that would have been at home on a turntable decades ago mixing with a contemporary guitar-heavy party vibe that could have been recorded two weeks ago.”
The music has drawn comparisons to classic artists like Stevie Wonder and Frank Zappa, as well as contemporary bands like Sublime and 311.
The band’s eclectic music has been featured as theme music for radio and web on Cleveland’s ESPN radio station WKNR and the “Party in the Back” podcast from Gameops.com.
The core of the band includes Mike (bass & vocals) and Scott (guitars, bass, keys & vocals), as well as guitarist K Billy and bassist Jeff Beam. The latest addition to the lineup is the incredible J Russell on drums.
They also frequently collaborate with other amazing musicians in Nashville (Jim Evans – drum wizard), Los Angeles (Maurice Adams – guitar stroker), and Cleveland (Joe “Coach” Hanna – drum destroyer, Charley Newcomer – drum pummeler, Jeff Endemann – guitar crusher, Steve Renko – drum decimator, and Jay Goodman – special sauce vocals).
The band’s sixth studio album “Day Boiler” releases on March 29, 2026. Check out the discography for more details.
